As a Welding Supervisor with Alfabs you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of the technical aspects of the group fabrication requirements. Based in the Engineering division the role will oversee our welding operations, ensuring they consistently meet stringent standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You will collaborate closely with various internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain comprehensive project quality plans while adhering to project specific quality standards and project deadlines.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Welding Supervisor will be responsible for providing essential technical expertise and support to welding personnel through comprehensive training, mentoring, and performance management and maintaining compliance with Alfabs standards.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

- Fulfil the role of Welding Supervisor, as defined in AS/NZS ISO 14731, including, but not limited to, Requirement and Technical Reviews, Subcontractor Management, Welder Qualifications, Equipment and Consumables Management, Welder Qualification Records, Weld Procedure Specifications, Inspection and Testing, Identification and Traceability.
- Manage and monitor welding activities to full compliance with AS/NZS ISO 3834.2, AS/NZS 1554 series, AS/NZS 5131 (CC3), ISO 9001 and contract specifications.
- Promote Quality Management System performance as a corporate value by raising awareness and constant communication of Quality related information to the sites and business units.
- Review and identify contract specific quality requirements, create infrastructure to capture and maintain these to align with the Quality Management System.
- Assist project personnel within the business unit in the completion of QA Work Packages and Manufacturing Data Reports in accordance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
- Liaise with Certifying Authorities and Regulatory bodies as required.
- Liaise with Client, third parties and Inspection Agency representatives with regards to project specific documentation and to assist in the resolution of any quality issues which may arise.
- Investigate reasons for non-conformances and assist with continuous improvement and problem-solving processes.
- Report on effectiveness of corrective and preventative actions.
- Participate in weld-related audits including following up on all actions.
- Liaise with Project Management, Supervision and Quality Team to ensure openness and fluidity to the approved inspection regimes.

About You:

- Hold Current AS 2214 and or AS 1796 Certificate 10 qualifications.
- Have specific experience in welding coordination experience with structural steel welding, FCAW, GMAW, MMAW, GTAW, SAW processes, equipment, and consumables.
- 3 years' experience in Quality Management and High level knowledge of operating company management systems and ISO 9001
- Desirable- High level of experience of developing and maintaining company fabrication management systems.
- Desirable - 5 years' experience in infrastructure, power generation, petrochemical, mining, or mineral processing industries.
- Desirable - Significant experience in quality roles, including welding technology/ supervision, quality assurance, quality control, document control and risk management.
- Desirable - Demonstrated knowledge of AS/NZS ISO 3834 series
- Desirable- Multi-disciplinary experience in Projects and Shutdowns, ideally in both workshop and field-based roles

- Possess eye for detail and accuracy with fabrication processes.

- Ability to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Hold current Australian Driver's License
