IDEXX is seeking an experienced Laboratory Scientist to join our Immunoserology team at our Eight Mile Plains laboratory. This full-time role offers an excellent opportunity for a medical laboratory scientist looking to apply advanced scientific expertise in a highly specialised diagnostic environment—without the demands of overnight rotational rosters. Working behind the scenes, you will play a critical role in delivering accurate, high-quality diagnostic results that support animal health outcomes across Australia and beyond. As a Scientist in Immunoserology, you will be responsible for the performance, interpretation, and quality assurance of a wide range of serological tests. You will work closely with a small, high-performing team, contributing technical expertise, critical thinking, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Perform routine serological testing, including ELISA, Agar Gel Immunodiffusion (AGID), Complement Fixation Tests (CFT), and Serum Agglutination Tests Interpret results and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and clinical relevance Conduct routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment Participate in quality assurance programs and ensure compliance with SOPs and business systems Support the development, validation, and implementation of new tests, services, and equipment Complete laboratory clerical duties, including specimen receipt, unpacking, computer logging, and responding to case-related enquiries Essential Requirements Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or AIMS accredited equivalent Minimum two years’ experience in a diagnostic pathology laboratory (multi-disciplinary experience highly desirable) Demonstrated experience performing ELISA, AGID, CFT, and Serum Agglutination tests Strong understanding of the theory underpinning livestock diseases and relevant diagnostic methods Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex information Proven ability to prioritise workflow and manage competing deadlines Strong commitment to quality, accountability, and customer service excellence Advanced troubleshooting and critical thinking skills, particularly in high‑pressure situations IDEXX Benefits In return, this role offers an opportunity to join a fast-paced global market leader on the S&P 500 Investment in professional development and career growth Be rewarded for your contributions through our ThanXX Reward and Recognition Program Enhanced bereavement leave for family and pets!
