Wespine, the leading softwood Timber Processor in Western Australia is currently ramping up production in an exciting new phase for the company and requires an experienced Maintenance Team Leader with the right attitude. About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader to join our Maintenance team to supervise the mechanical tradespersons and coordinate daily activities to minimise downtime and maximise fibre recovery.
You will also need to be available for planned maintenance shutdowns as scheduled. This exciting position is offered on a full-time basis including a 6 month probation. During projects and plant downtime events work that can't be completed in normal working hours may require additional hours of work.
Normal working hours vary with production requirements but currently involve a three-week cycle working an average of 50 hours per week which includes 1 weekend every 3 weeks.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and mentor the work of mechanical shift crew to ensure safety, productivity and quality of work. Work closely with the planners and provide scope feedback when required. Be actively out in the operational areas to ensure work is carried out in accordance with the work orders in MEX and to approve and actively scope jobs against requests made in MEX to ensure they have sufficient scoping for the planners.
* Identify hazards, opportunities, weaknesses and faults and create safety documentation, work orders and preventative maintenance schedules as required
* Review shift Take 2's and JHAs on the job to ensure the crew conducts their work safely in accordance with Wespine safety policies
* Analyse root cause of breakdowns and provide detailed feedback back to Maintenance Supervisor
Experience and Qualifications:
* Trade qualification (Mechanical)
* Mex skills and knowledge
* First Aid Certificate
* EWP and Working at Heights licence
* Forklift licence
* Basic Welding
* Strong organisation and work coordination skills
* Leadership and supervisory skills
* Planning and resource scheduling skills
