CELOTTI WORKFORCE is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and manage WHS systems across large-scale heavy civil construction projects in Darwin.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage site-wide Work Health & Safety (WHS) systems across heavy civil construction works Develop, implement, and maintain Safety Management Plans (SMPs) in line with legislative and contractual requirements Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, and project-specific safety standards Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments Lead incident investigations, reporting, and corrective actions Oversee safety documentation including SWMS, JHAs, permits, and registers Deliver toolbox talks, pre-starts, and safety briefings to site teams and subcontractors Liaise with Project Managers, Superintendents, clients, and regulators as required Drive a proactive safety culture focused on risk mitigation and continuous improvement
Our Ideal Candidate:
8+ years’ experience in safety management within heavy civil construction Proven experience on large-scale infrastructure or complex civil projects Strong understanding of WHS legislation and compliance frameworks Confident communicator with the ability to influence site leadership and workforce behaviour Highly organised with strong reporting and documentation capability Construction White Card (mandatory) Diploma or Degree in WHS or related discipline preferred
