Job Summary
The Production Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe production environment. This role ensures all equipment, machinery, and work areas are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with company standards and food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize production equipment, floors, walls, and surfaces following cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Disassemble and reassemble machinery for deep cleaning as required.
Safely handle and use industrial cleaning chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Follow all food safety, quality, and hygiene procedures (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
Properly dispose of waste and recyclable materials.
Accurately complete cleaning records and checklists.
Report any damaged equipment or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Always wear appropriate PPE and adhere to company safety policies.
Assist in general housekeeping duties and maintain cleanliness throughout the facility.
Skills and Qualifications
Previous experience in industrial or food production cleaning is preferred.
Knowledge of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Understanding of hygiene and sanitation standards (especially in food environments).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or in a team.
Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks (e.g., lifting, bending, standing for long periods).
Good communication and time management skills.
Work Environment
Exposure to wet or slippery floors, strong cleaning agents, and cold environments depending on the area cleaned.
Shift work may be required, including late evenings, weekends, or public holidays.
