About The Role
In this role, you will develop and deliver communication and community engagement initiatives that align with Council priorities. You'll create clear, engaging content for Council's website, social media, publications and reports, as well as plan and implement targeted marketing campaigns with measurable outcomes.
You'll contribute to major Council publications, manage social media content schedules, and support public relations activities, including media enquiries and issue management. The role involves maintaining brand and style consistency across all digital and print assets, assisting with the design and production of communication materials, and contributing to key documents such as service delivery plans and budget publications.
You'll build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, support Council strategies through effective communication outcomes, assist with small budget management and provide support at occasional after-hours Council and community events. You may also assist with emergency management communications when required.
About You
You're a proactive communications professional who takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. You have proven experience developing and managing communication strategies and can confidently tailor messages for a wide range of audiences using clear, engaging written and verbal communication.
You bring strong project management skills and are comfortable juggling multiple priorities while meeting deadlines, whether you're working independently or as part of a collaborative team. You understand the importance of quality, consistency and brand alignment in a local government environment and are committed to upholding Council's Customer Service Charter in everything you do.
You hold a relevant diploma qualification or have substantial experience in a similar role, and you're committed to ongoing professional learning and development. You have practical, working knowledge of a range of tools, including Microsoft Office, web content management systems (ideally Drupal), email marketing platforms, Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Meta Business Suite, financial or accounting systems and Adobe Creative Suite.
