About The Position
An excellent opportunity has become available for Casual Coal Quality Testers to work Abbot Point Coal terminal. We are looking for enthusiastic local people who are looking for an opportunity to be trained as a Coal Quality Testers to become a part of the Ports team, based in Bowen.
Day to Day
Reporting to the Ports Supervisors, the position requirements include but are not limited to:
* Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe & efficient manner and to agreed standard operating instructions.
* Enter validated results into the reporting system.
* A range of analytical tests including Total Moisture
* A range of physical tests including sample preparation, crushing, dividing and sample storage.
Skills Required
Full training will be provided to successful candidates. However, to be considered for this position, you will have:
* A strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork.
* Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
* Good grasp of computers/technology including spreadsheets.
* Comfortable with manual handling duties.
* Ability to work to a flexible roster and willingness to work 12-hour day, day or night shifts.
* Valid Driver's License.
* Competent within a strong safety culture.
As part of the selection process, a pre-employment medical exam is required, including a drug and alcohol assessment.
