Position: Internal Controls & Compliance Analyst

Position Summary
The Internal Control & Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the organization meets its corporate governance, internal audit, and risk management obligations. This position is responsible for evaluating and strengthening internal controls & processes, identifying operational and financial risks, and driving compliance across business functions. The role involves conducting in-depth reviews of business processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and navigating complex systems to enhance internal procedures and promote operational efficiency
Key Responsibilities
* Support the planning and execution of internal control requirements across multiple departments.
* Conduct comprehensive reviews of business processes to identify inefficiencies, risks, and control weaknesses.
* Develop and maintain step-by-step internal control process documentation for all departments.
* Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend actionable risk mitigation strategies.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement effective risk management initiatives.
* Perform post implementation control Self-Assessment (CSA) walkthroughs to evaluate control design and operational effectiveness.
* Assist the Financial Controller and project lead in preparing progress report and presenting key findings to senior leadership.
* Monitor adherence to internal policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of audit activities, findings, and follow-up actions.
* Contribute to the development and enhancement of audit tools, templates, and methodologies.
* Stay current with industry's best practices and regulatory developments relevant to internal audit and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance (risk and compliance), Business, or a related field.
* 3-5 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, or a related compliance role.
* Strong understanding of risk management and internal control frameworks.
* Experience working with complex systems and data analysis tools.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Desirable Attributes
* CPA or progressing towards CPA or CA certification.
* Experience in the manufacturing industry.
* Familiarity with audit software or ERP systems (e.g., Sage).
