Job DescriptionThe Yard Coordinator is responsible for assisting with inspection of incoming vehicles at assigned Branch location. Responsibilities include vehicle check-in, digital imaging, vehicle clean-up and preservation, auction numbering/preparation, and responding to customer needsResponsibilitiesVehicle check-in by recording and filing information on incoming vehicles being assigned to the facilityDetail (thoroughly clean) vehicles to improve their appearance for purposes of enhancing their value at auctionOperate passenger vehicles in a safe manner for the purposes of moving the vehicles around the facility and/or participating in drive-through auctionsNumbering, preparation and set up for weekly/biweekly auctionRecover keys, license plates, and other information or objects from vehicles at the facility and store them in the appropriate locations at the branchAssist visitors by providing appropriate guidance and/or directing them to the appropriate person for additional assistancePerform basic forklift/loader operationAdhere to all company policies and proceduresReads and understands documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and other procedural documents, and ensures adherence to applicable safety and environmental rules in order to provide a safe business for customers and employeesRemain alert to potential hazards associated with heavy equipment and other vehicles operated in assigned work areaMeets key performance metrics, including daily, weekly, and monthly goalsMust be willing to learn how to operate a forklift (may not be required in certain facilities)Capable of interacting effectively and supportively with customers & towersCapable of performing and/or assisting with light maintenance of vehiclesMust be able to perform activities that involve stooping, bending, standing, and walking for reasonable periods of timeAbility to work in varying climates, weather conditions, and walking surfaces, inside and outsideGeneral mechanical knowledge of makes and models of vehicles requiredAbility to function well as part of a team*Valid driver’s license & ability to operate vehicles (may not be required in certain facilities)Ability to apply appropriate use of security, maintenance, and safety procedures to protect Company and customer assetsAbility to apply appropriate use of personal protective equipment (i.e., safety gloves, safety glasses)Ability to avoid accidents by recognizing potentially unsafe situations and responding appropriately when accidents occurAbility to follow appropriate industry specific regulations related to the handling of hazardous materialsActs as a role model and coaches, mentors, and manages a team of accounting specialist in the execution of department and company goals (non-people management)Duties are subject to change, based on business needsFlexible and willing to perform other tasks as assignedQualifications2-3 year related ExperienceExperience in the equipment rental or construction industry and/or related field preferredPrevious forklift operating experience is a plusBasic automotive repair skillsProficiency with handheld PDAMust be willing to learn how to operate a forkliftCapable of interacting effectively and supportively with customers & towersCapable of performing and/or assisting with light maintenance of vehiclesMust be able to perform activities that involve stooping, bending, standing, and walking for reasonable periods of timeGeneral mechanical knowledge of makes and models of vehicles requiredAbility to function well as part of a teamWork both indoors and outdoors year-round, and climb on and off large equipment and trucks
