Broad operational direction and support will be provided by the Area Manager ADS North West and Clinical Governance will be provided by the Statewide Speciality Director. 
The Role 
The Specialist Medical Practitioner - ADS will: 
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and with key stakeholders to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the public and private sector Pharmacotherapy Program. 
- Be expected to exercise a significant level of independent clinical judgement in completing the primary tasks. 
- Be expected to act with integrity and in an ethically honourable manner.

Details of appointment 
Permanent part time, day worker (with on-call) position, working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible. 
Specialist Medical Practitioners 
Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $216,300 - $310,389 per annum, pro rata + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging. 
Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $300,216 - $310,389 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award. 
- Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022 
In addition, the following allowances and benefits, calculated on the salaried incremental point, may be available: 
- Salary packaging options include a range of benefits like living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meals and entertainment every year. 
- Motor vehicle allowance of $28,786 per annum, pro rata 
- Participation in Private Practice Scheme 35% or allowance in lieu of private practice schemes 35%. 
- North West Retention Allowance 20% pro rata per annum 
- Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,974 per annum, pro rata 
- Professional development and accelerated pathways. 
- A range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Career development Support.

Eligibility 
Eligibility: Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria as Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty. 
*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change.
