About the Role
We're looking for a Payroll Officer to work closely alongside the Payroll Manager in a supportive, high‐energy environment. You'll be the go‐to person for accurate, timely payroll delivery while playing a key role in our team's success. This is a genuine stepping‐stone position designed for someone who wants to level up.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and deliver accurate end‐to‐end weekly payroll processing for 900+ team members
* Provide hands‐on support, daily reviews, and guidance to our remote payroll team
* Ensure precise compliance with Enterprise Agreements, Awards, legislation, and payroll policies
* Respond to payroll enquiries promptly and resolve issues with speed and professionalism
* Prepare end‐of‐month and end‐of‐year payroll activities with confidence and attention to detail
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance documentation
What You'll Bring
* 4+ years of payroll experience in a medium‐to‐large organisation (Australian payroll a must)
* Proven ability to consistently meet tight deadlines while effectively managing multiple priorities
* Strong working knowledge of Awards, EBAs, and payroll legislation
* Confident communication – you'll engage with employees, stakeholders, and the Payroll Manager daily
* Sharp attention to detail with a proactive, problem‐solving mindset
* Proficient in Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Outlook for smooth daily operations
