About the role About the role - Senior Project Development Engineer The Senior Project Development Engineer serves as the main technical resource for our sales team, ensuring the creation and management of technical solutions during the sales process. This role positions AGL as a leader in the C&I market by working closely with various teams and maintaining strong relationships with customers as a technical advisor and solution advocate. Reporting to the Project Development Team Manager, the Senior Project Development Engineer is essential in securing high-value deals by managing the technical solution development. The engineer works cross-functionally with sales, delivery, engineering, and bid management teams, assessing customer requirements and recommending optimal solutions from AGL's suite of products. The role includes preparing detailed technical bid responses, showcasing AGL's engineering capabilities, and working collaboratively to develop and convert project opportunities. Additionally, the engineer explores new technologies to provide versatile technical solutions to customer needs. What you’ll be doing: Proactively scope and develop concept design and initial estimation for the technical solution required to address customer requirements with the service level agreements with the sales team. Prepare detailed technical bid responses highlighting required solution, engineering capabilities and integration aspects Present proposed solutions to clients in a face to face or virtual format and assist with the negotiation of product solutions from a technical perspective Contribute to increasing the competency and comfort levels of sales teams in selling solutions through the development selling aids, tools and training Ensure safety in design principles are utilized wherever engineering work may have a downstream impact on the safety of people, property or the environment. Ensure contractor engagement is carried out in alignment with the AGL contractor management framework. Collaborate cross functionally with project engineers and project managers to deliver best for project solutions. About you: Demonstrated success in developing technical designs and accurate estimations for EPC projects, including engineering, equipment, civils, and mechanical installation. Tenured experience as a project development engineer in renewables or energy projects. Strong knowledge of distributed energy resource technologies (Solar, Batteries, Wind) and electrical power systems, including high voltage distribution. High attention to detail with the ability to value engineer technical solutions and manage multiple stakeholders. Outstanding presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills to build strong relationships with stakeholders and business partners. Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with a solid track record in solar and battery storage or related engineering.
