Cancer Alliance Queensland (CAQ) is seeking a strategic and analytical leader to drive clinician-led improvement initiatives across Queensland’s cancer services. This role sits at the intersection of health informatics, project leadership and service reform — translating complex data into meaningful action that improves patient outcomes statewide.

Your new role:
As a key member of Cancer Alliance Queensland, you will provide leadership and expert advice to ensure CAQ achieves its strategic objectives. You will act as the critical link between clinical stakeholders and information systems, coordinating initiatives that strengthen cancer service delivery through evidence-based decision-making and structured improvement methodologies.
Working closely with multidisciplinary networks, statewide clinical leaders and Queensland Health stakeholders, you will lead high-impact projects, improve data quality, and guide clinician-led committees to evaluate and enhance cancer care outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the vital link between CAQ's IT capabilities and business objectivesLead complex data analysis and proactively investigate data quality issuesManage significant projects from planning through to successful implementationPresent analytical insights to diverse clinical and executive audiences
This position reports to the Manager, Cancer Control and works closely with statewide networks, Queensland Health branches, tertiary institutions, Cancer Australia and other key partners.

Skills & Experience
Proven experience developing business requirement specifications and software test plans within the healthcare sectorDemonstrated capability in data analysis, dashboard development and reporting solutionsStrong understanding of clinical information management and evidence-based decision-makingExperience managing projects within healthcare or large, complex organisations

Cancer Alliance Queensland brings together The Partnership, QCCAT and the Queensland Cancer Register (QCR) to support and promote clinician led improvement of cancer services in Queensland.
QCCAT is responsible for the management and maintenance of the QCR in accordance with the Public Health Act (PHA) 2005. The QCR captures cancer notifications to determine the incidence, mortality and survival of people with cancer in Queensland. QCCAT fulfil legal obligations such as the review and approval of applications for the release of the data under the PHA, supporting the QCR information system and supporting the analysis and reporting of the QCR data for Queensland.
