Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:Reporting to the Senior Process Control Engineer this position is responsible for engineering matters concerning the Fixed Ore Processing Assets at the Eliwana Mine Site.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Practice - anticipate & proactively resolve potential problems to ensure a zero-harm environment through design/ formulation of technical solutionsCommissioning of drives, instrumentation, and miscellaneous field devicesDesign and develop new control systems including testing, maintaining and modifying existing systems to ensure optimal utilisationLiaise with relevant departments to provide technical solutions for operational support and projectsTechnical Knowledge – Continue to develop processing & process control knowledge & skills to deliver continuous business improvementsBuild co-operative relationships to design new equipment and/or systems in conjunction with internal & external expertsDesign and implement purposeful improvement ideas based on detailed examination of anticipated or recurring problems of a process control natureSupport the ongoing maintenance of control systems assets including PLCs, servers, network and communication equipment, and field devicesQualifications and ExperienceTertiary Qualifications in Electrical Engineering, mechatronic or similarMinimum 3-5 years’ experience as process control system engineer in fixed plant/mining, with strong development and commissioning backgroundWorking knowledge of mineral processing plants and balanced machinesPreferred GE/Emmerson PLC Programming experience or extensive experience with other PLC brandsBasic knowledge of Functional Safety Standards such as AS 61508, AS 62061: 2006, IEC 62061Good knowledge of GE CIMPLICITY SCADA software or extensive experience with another packageGood knowledge and experience with process instrumentsExperience with Control system design and Profinet diagnostics skills (preferred)Strong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent problem-solving skills and continual improvement focusAbout UsBe part of something big.
