Job Description
The purpose of the Specialist Technician position is to be responsible for administration and maintenance of school network and ICT environments. This position is for candidates in or willing to travel to Mildura. In addition, identifying, escalating and managing issues through to resolution.
* Work onsite in Victorian school environment as a technical specialist
Work autonomously with a strong mentoring program
Responsibilities
Server and Network administration
Demonstrated networking knowledge, including but not limited to: VLAN, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP services
Experience in virtualisation technologies such as VMware, Hyper‑V and/or Citrix
Hands on configuration and troubleshooting of hardware like servers, firewalls, switches and wireless infrastructure is an advantage
Interpersonal skills & ability to explain technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels
General computer hardware and software support
Active Directory and Group Policy management and administration skills
Service Desk and end user device support
BYOD management and support
Cloud MDM Management and Configuration
Data Protection & Disaster recovery
Onsite/Cloud deployment including but not limited to Windows, Apple and Chrome OS
Technical document writing including instructional and training materials for leadership and users
Strategic ICT planning with school leadership
Maintenance of ICT network documentation
Qualifications
Tertiary education desirable (Cert 4 in IT Systems Administration or similar preferable)
Certification in relevant technologies (eg. vCloud, MCSA, CompTIA)
Previous ICT/Helpdesk experience within schools highly desirable
