Senior Accounting Specialist
This role involves supporting the Group Financial Controller in month-end reporting, statutory accounting and taxation compliance.
The Senior Accounting Specialist is responsible for providing accurate and timely financial and management reporting for all internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.
* Support group-wide financial reporting across multiple subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with local reporting standards.
* Reconcile intercompany transactions and balances across all entities.
* Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations accurately and on time.
Compliance & Regulatory Reporting:
* Ensure all financial reporting complies with IFRS, AASB, and the Corporations Act 2001.
* Assist with statutory financial statements and coordinate year-end audits with external auditors.
* Maintain compliance with ASIC, ASX, and other regulatory requirements.
* Prepare financial statements for tax reporting, GST, BAS, and FBT lodgements.
* Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and apply them to reporting.
Analysis & Financial Insights:
* Analyse financial performance, trends, and key variances against budgets and forecasts.
* Provide management with insights on cost control, profitability, and business performance.
* Support scenario analysis and financial modelling for business planning.
To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or Finance, with CA or CPA qualifications (highly desirable).
You will have 1–3 years of experience in a similar finance or accounting role, thriving in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, attention to detail, and meeting deadlines are key.
Your advanced Excel skills, including Lookup formulas, Pivot Tables, and data analysis, will allow you to efficiently interpret and manipulate financial information to support business decisions.
