Overview
The NRMA Driving Instructor role is a full-time, permanent position based in Sydney, NSW, Australia. This is a driving instructor role focused on delivering the NRMA Driver Training Curriculum, NSW Safer Drivers Course, and related programs to learners across designated regions.
What You’ll Do
- Provide tailored driving lessons based on NRMA Driver Training Curriculum
- Deliver the NSW Safer Drivers Course and, where eligible, Older Driver Assessment qualifications
- Work toward becoming an authorised trainer for Corporate Driver Training programs
- Utilise company-provided materials and equipment to perform duties effectively
- Contribute to road safety education and community impact

About the Role
- Location: servicing regions in Sutherland Shire, South West Sydney, and Outer South West
- Availability: rostered Monday – Sunday, 7am – 8pm; roster provided in advance with shifts aligned to customer demand
What You'll Bring
NRMA seeks employees who can deliver a safe, positive customer experience and meet the following qualifications, experiences and skills:
- Valid NSW Driving Instructor Licence
- Willingness to obtain TfNSW Safer Drivers Course (min module 2) accreditation
- Willingness to obtain Older Driver Assessment qualifications when eligible (requires 3 years of driving instructor experience)
- Valid NSW C class Driver’s Licence
- Valid Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
- Passion and dedication to helping learners become safe and independent drivers
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills with empathy and patience
- Ability to promote NRMA products using a need-based selling approach
- Excellent communication across diverse demographics and levels of driving confidence
- Strong understanding of NSW road rules and regulations
- Effective diary management and time management to optimise scheduling
- Ability to adapt to different learner needs and preferences
- Team player with flexibility to grow with business demand
Desirable (or Willingness to Obtain)
- Facilitation skills and willingness to undertake Cert IV Training and Assessment
- Willingness to upskill to deliver driver training products (e.g., Safer Drivers Course and NRMA’s Corporate Driver Training)
