Position description:
* Provide legal advice across a range of areas, including administrative law, commercial law, employment law, integrity, and litigation.
* Prepare submissions and make recommendations to support statutory decision-making under national regulatory frameworks.
* Deliver high-quality legal advice on legislative and policy matters relevant to operational requirements.
* Undertake legal research and contribute to internal training on relevant legal topics.
* Collaborate effectively with internal teams and a variety of external stakeholders.
* Manage complex legal issues within tight time frames and shifting priorities.
* Handle sensitive information with discretion and uphold confidentiality at all times.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and key documentation.
Key Capabilities :
* Law degree from an Australian tertiary institution (or equivalent) and admission as a legal practitioner in a Supreme Court of a State or Territory.
* Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
Administrative law (e.g. freedom of information, privacy)
o Commercial law
o Employment law
o Integrity and litigation
* Strong decision-making and judgement in delivering legal advice across varied practice areas.
* Well-developed skills in legal research, document review, and drafting.
* Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
* Sound understanding of integrity frameworks, or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge.
Position Requirements / Qualifications:
* Baseline Clearance.
* Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
* Law degree from an Australian tertiary institution (or equivalent) and admission as a legal practitioner in a Supreme Court of a State or Territory.
