This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: The U.S. Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM) handles the day-to-day operations of Army installations.
Duties
* Perform security guard duties in accordance with appropriate regulations to detect and prevent theft, damage, accident, trespass, sabotage and espionage.
* Enforce the security regulations of the installation.
* Control access of vehicles and pedestrians to installation.
* Verify identification through use of identification cards, badges, bio-metrics automated records, verbal questioning, and other means.
* Admit persons, deny entry or arrange for escorts, as appropriate.
* Conduct vehicle searches and inspections.
* Conduct foot or vehicle patrol of perimeters, roadways, parking and other high traffic areas.
Requirements
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
* Shift work is required, or a change in work shift may be necessary. Hours of work encompass fluctuating tours of duty to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
* Position may be designated as Mission Essential depending on location.
* Overtime may be required as directed and is subject to recall for periods of emergency overtime.
* Incumbent must undergo and pass annual medical exams of physical, emotional and mental stability.
* In accordance with Army Regulation (AR) 190-56, must meet the requirements of Individual Reliability Program.
* This is a drug testing designated position. Incumbent agrees to submit to a mandatory command directed urinalysis on a recurring basis.
* Incumbent is required to maintain physical conditioning and pass an annual Physical Agility Test (PAT) as outlined in AR 190-56.
* Incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi‑annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons.
* Incumbent must successfully complete security guard training.
* Incumbent must successfully complete and maintain current required certifications in CPR techniques and First Aid. May act as a first responder in a medical emergency.
* Incumbent must be able to obtain and sustain state certification for operating the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) terminals.
* Incumbent must obtain and maintain applicable certifications in operating various electronic equipment and sensors.
* Incumbent must wear the prescribed Department of Army Security Guard (DASG) uniform IAW AR 190-56; must maintain a high state of appearance and hygiene.
* The duties and training require for the employee to carry and deploy a riot baton, carry a protective shield and employ non‑lethal ammunition's if necessary.
* Incumbent is required to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other protective equipment, and may be required to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants and baton.
* Incumbent must not have any medical condition that precludes the wearing of a chemical protective mask and over garments.
* Incumbent must be fully qualified to operate a government vehicle. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
* Incumbent must meet the requirements under the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
