What You'll be Leading
As Senior Civil Engineer, you'll report to Narayanan, a committed and experienced manager, known for his technical expertise and team leadership. You will be responsible to perform the cut & fill, storm water drainage and pavement design for utility scale solar projects from inception to completion, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify, secure, and optimise the process.
Your expertise will also be essential in guiding other colleagues and sub-contractors to ensure compliant, optimized and efficient designs for our projects.
Your Main Responsibilities:
* Analyse the LIDAR data, Topography maps, Flood risk assessment reports, Hydrology study, Civil works design and other relevant designs, of large scale ground mounted PV solar farm projects, to assess its sufficiency for use in detailed design.
* Review and understand the requirements concerning earth works, hydrology, Understand the topography and slope constraints of PV mounting structures and Single axis tracker structures.
* Performed detailed cut and fill estimation and optimize bulk earthworks quantities, using relevant software programs, to suit the constraints of the mounting structures/trackers and project specific needs.
* Prepare detailed 2D and 3D mapping of cut and fill estimations.
* Review and understand Flood risk assessment and Hydrology study reports to identify associated risks and guide the team on optimizing PV layouts.
* Perform the design of storm water drainage layout and sizing of open channel drains and culverts for large PV solar farm projects.
* Perform detailed design of road layouts, paved and unpaved roads.
* Prepare specifications/scope of works documents to outsource and perform different site studies i.e. Flood risk assessment, hydrology study, etc.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification, along with a minimum of 5 years' relevant professional experience.
* A solid understanding of the concepts of bulk earthworks, flood risk, hydrology, pavement design and compaction.
* Proven ability to work in engineering, and design modelling teams, working directly with Water Authority clients, and manage projects to scope, budget and program.
* Knowledge of Software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, 12D, QGIS, etc.
* Previously gained experience within an engineering consultancy environment, particularly involving photovoltaic (PV) projects, will be considered an asset
