A large mining business is looking to recruit a skilled Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. Continued growth and internal move have led to the position being recruited. The main purpose of the Financial Accountant will be to take ownership of the company's financial transactions and support management in driving the business forward. Financial Accountant's key duties will include:
* Manage the full month‐end close cycle ensuring timely reconciliations, accurate consolidation, and high‐quality group reporting.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with accounting standards and internal policies.
* Strengthen financial controls and governance frameworks, reducing risk and improving the reliability of financial reporting across the group.
* Manage the annual audit process.
* Manage taxation activities.
* Manage leased assets and reconcile fixed asset register.
* Oversee the budgeting & forecasting process.
* Review business performance.
* Mentor junior staff.
* Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties.
* Drive process improvements.
Key skills required:
* Experience in a similar role within mining.
* CA/CPA qualified.
* Strong analytical and reporting skills.
* Excellent & confident communication skills.
* Proven at improving processes.
* Confident with systems including Excel.
