Description:
The role involves supporting the delivery of a program aimed at empowering young people. Working closely with a designated manager, you will assist in mentoring and engagement activities for individuals aged 10–17 who are considered to be at risk.
Main Responsibilities:
* Mentoring Support:
o Deliver one-on-one mentoring sessions and group workshops designed to support life skills development.
o Act as a positive role model and engage participants in supportive ways.
* Community Engagement:
o Bilateral relationships must be formed between the team and stakeholders including families, local organizations, and other supporters.
* Logistics and Reporting:
o Prepare resources and coordinate logistics necessary for session setup.
o Gather data on attendance and participant feedback for reporting purposes.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Essential:
o Must have experience working with at-risk youth or related fields.
o Strong interpersonal skills necessary for building rapport and trust.
o Familiarity with cultural safety principles is required.
o Ability to adapt within flexible work environments.
o Certification for child protection (Blue Card) or eligibility to obtain.
* Desirable:
o Prior experience in youth programs, community service, or sports-based programs preferred.
