Position summary
We are seeking an experienced Contracts and Procurement Advisor to support procurement and commercial contracting activities within a resources operator.
This position plays a key role in delivering end-to-end supply chain and contracting processes, including tender preparation, commercial evaluation, negotiations, and post-award contract management. The role also includes raising requisitions and purchase orders through the Coupa Procure-to-Pay system.
The successful candidate will work closely with technical and project stakeholders to ensure commercial alignment of scopes, effective supplier engagement, and efficient procurement outcomes.

About the role
In this role you will support the commercial and procurement function by managing contracting activities from early tender stages through to contract award and administration.
Key responsibilities include:
* Working within end-to-end supply chain and procurement processes
* Preparing supplier prequalification and tender documentation
* Reviewing and critiquing technical scopes of work to ensure commercial alignment
* Coordinating tender clarifications with internal stakeholders and vendors
* Leading or supporting commercial negotiations
* Undertaking commercial bid evaluations
* Coordinating bid evaluation processes and contract award documentation
* Drafting and finalising contract documentation
* Supporting post-award contract management
* Raising requisitions and Purchase Orders within Coupa Procure-to-Pay
* This role provides exposure to a range of small to medium value contracts, requiring strong organisation, commercial judgement, and the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholders.
About the candidate
We are looking for a commercially minded procurement professional who is comfortable operating across both contracts and purchasing activities.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in contracts and procurement
* Experience within the resources, energy, or heavy industry sectors
* Strong understanding of tendering, commercial evaluations and contract award processes
* Experience using procurement systems (preferably Coupa)
* Ability to interpret and critique technical scopes for commercial alignment
* Strong commercial negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
* High proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Excellent written communication and attention to detail
* A proactive, "can-do" attitude and willingness to support wider team requirements
* Expertise in vendor relationship management and supplier performance monitoring
* Capability to conduct risk assessments and implement effective mitigation strategies
* Proficiency in strategic sourcing analysis and market evaluation
* Strong commercial acumen with attention to detail in contract terms and conditions
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
* Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, supply chain management or related discipline
* Professional certifications in procurement or contracts management highly regarded
* Proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to prepare comprehensive reports and documentation
* Proficiency in procurement systems and contract management software
