At Canopy, we take a transdiagnostic view of therapy. Thismeans we work with many different forms of psychological distress (such asdepression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, sleep problems, chronic pain andmore). We understand that difficulties often overlap, and we are committed toworking with the whole person.
Canopy Clinical Psychology is part of the ClinicalIntegration Services (CIS) Group; a private medical specialist group providingcardiac and vascular diagnostic imaging and clinical services (Cardio VascularServices - CVS) together with sleep and respiratory services (CardioRespiratory Sleep - CRS) and cardio-metabolic medicine (Cardio MetabolicServices – CMS). Our goal is to provide a comprehensive integrated centre forpatient care; viewing the patient as a whole, not a sum of systems.
Canopy Clinical Psychology operates from two locations:Murdoch and Nedlands. Both locations have large, beautiful consultation roomswith natural light and a comfortable environment for both clinician andclients.
Reason for Role
* We are looking to add to our team of Clinical Psychologists,allowing greater access and availability to mental health services within ourcommunity.
* Demand for a quality clinical psychology service is growing,and therefore we are looking for passionate, like-minded individuals to joinour team.
* We are especially interested in speaking with clinicianswith a special interest and/or experience in weight management and/or eatingdisorders, as we look to grow our holistic physician-led Weight ManagementService under CMS.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
* Practiceas a Clinical Psychologist (or Clinical Psychology Registrar) and ensurepractice is in accordance with laws and ethical standards governingpsychological practice as per the Psychology Board of Australia and CISpolicies and guidelines
* Within amultidisciplinary and professional team context, provide clinical andeducational psychology services to patients, couples, families, groups andother professionals; performing psychological assessments to appraisecognitive, emotional, behavioural and family functioning, i.e., interviews,behavioural observations, psychometric and psycho-diagnostic assessment.
* Activelyparticipate and assist with clinical research opportunities, within the widerCIS Group; in terms of recruitment, study management (where appropriate) andclinical applications.
* Participatesin multidisciplinary team meetings in which clinical management andintervention planning decisions are made.
* Provideseducation and training on psychological matters within the discipline andacross disciplines, including (but not limited to); department meetings,educational sessions and training material.
