Overview

Charles River is looking to expand their established Implementation Services Team. The Principal Consultant is responsible for all aspects of implementation for the Charles River IMS. The role requires becoming a product expert quickly and staying up-to-date with product and industry changes. The candidate will manage competing demands of clients, operating administratively as well as hands-on, with a mix of asset management/business knowledge, business analysis, project experience, relationship management, and implementation experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Fixed Income products, complex financial instruments, and a variety of OTCs, and will be comfortable running large and complex implementation projects either independently or as part of a larger team.

The team is part of Charles River Development (CRD), which became part of State Street in 2018. CRD helps create enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in institutional investment, wealth management and hedge funds. Together we have created the first open front-to-back platform – State Street Alpha – launched in 2019. The role involves delivering next‐generation infrastructure using emerging technologies like AI.

What you will be responsible for

* Lead or co-manage implementation projects for CRD
* Provide a single point of contact for a client
* Demonstrate superior client-facing and communication skills with senior level stakeholders/clients
* Provide ongoing communication and evaluation of project status
* Interpret workflow analysis documents and convert them into CR IMS configuration specifications
* Guide customers around best practice implementations and efficient workflow configuration
* Undertake daily execution of the project plan steps
* Ensure client needs are understood and documented
* Provide proactive leadership in client utilization of CRD products and services
* Facilitate conference calls and meetings with other consultants and product experts
* Communicate pertinent information on upgrades and major releases
* Manage training and consulting resource requests
* Monitor and assist with the issue escalation process
* Respond to additional product requests
* Coordinate work undertaken by CRD representatives in other locations
* Maintain awareness of industry changes and trends

What we value

* Experience of managing large projects or multiple smaller projects
* Extensive Front Office experience (order management, dealing with Fund Managers/Traders)
* Applications experience with Charles River Trading System/Compliance Master or equivalent (competitor)
* Excellent market instrument knowledge - Fixed Income/derivatives etc.
* Some technical knowledge, ideally SQL
* Experience of doing a full life cycle implementation is essential
* Experience dealing with users or clients from either a technical or business area
* Comfortable making presentations covering business, technical or sales aspects
* Third level qualification ideally a Technical Bachelor's Degree
* Travel will be required – may be >20% per calendar year
* Flexibility with schedule and ability to work beyond regular business hours

Education & Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree from a leading university or college in Finance, Business/Mathematical Finance, Economics or Computer Science
* An advanced degree or industry certification such as the CFA is a strong plus
* A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the Financial / Software Services industry (Financial market information systems background preferred)
