Supported Playgroup Facilitator
Permanent Part Time – 16 Hours per week
Band 5 Salary: $40.89 per hour plus 12% superannuation
Location: Morwell, Victoria
About the role
As a Supported Playgroup Facilitator with Latrobe City Council, you will advisory and educative service to families with children through facilitated playgroup and provide In-Home support to families by enabling and supporting sustained and regular attendance at playgroup.
You will work with families within our community to model and support developmentally appropriate play experiences and positive parent-child interactions as well as identifying local needs of families with children in the 0-6 age group, provided and adapting our programs to promote family well-being.
About You
You will have the ability to relate with a broad range of clients with varying degrees of complexity and needs in an empathetic manner and respectful manner whilst working constructively within am multidisciplinary service system building collaborative relationships.
You will also need.
* Diploma or above qualification in Children’s Services, Early Childhood Development, Community Services, or relevant field.
* Experience in working with vulnerable families with children in the 0-6 years.
* Understanding of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
* Sound knowledge of early childhood development, family functioning and parenting issues.
* The ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders and referral services to develop referral pathways for families.
* Demonstrated knowledge of child development and family support service systems.
* The ability to facilitate playgroups and provide in home support to families.
Successful applicants will be required to apply for and satisfactorily obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
