Mine Technology Manager
Norton Gold Fields is seeking a Mine Technology & Spatial Services Manager to build and lead a new department responsible for mine technology, automation, fleet systems, and spatial services. This senior role drives the evaluation, introduction, and implementation of technologies that enhance mine safety, productivity, and operational efficiency across our Open Pit operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and lead the Mine Technology & Spatial Services department, ensuring strong systems, training, and support frameworks.
* Oversight of all mine survey services, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery and adoption of new technologies, including drone-based survey tools.
* Introduce and operationalize fleet management, GPS machine guidance, and technology-driven excavation support.
* Evaluate and deploy semi-autonomous and autonomous systems for drilling and haulage.
* Manage departmental budgeting, project proposals, board papers, and technology implementation plans.
* Stay abreast of emerging mining technologies and assess their applicability for operational improvement.
* Support system checks, troubleshooting, data interfaces, and reporting requirements.
* Provide hands-on support during hardware/software installations, calibrations, and maintenance.
* Collaborate with IT specialists and integrate corporate Zijin technologies where required.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in Mining, Surveying, IT, or related disciplines.
* Strong understanding of mining operations, supply chains, and operational stakeholder requirements.
* Experience with engineering or IT project methodologies.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across both technical and operational teams.
* Solid understanding of Windows OS, networks, and basic command line functions.
