West Technology has been engaged to recruit for a Head of Technology to join this Australian business that is a pioneer in its' industry. About your new role
As the Head of Technology, you will be responsible for the technology function for the group, both locally and internationally.
This role is highly visible in the business and will work closely with the senior leadership team and interact with the board on technology related topics.
Other key tasks include:
* Act as the Technology business partner and primary contact for all IT queries both internally and externally.
* Lead, develop and mentor an IT team of 10.
* Own the technology strategy roadmap, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy.
* Ensure that the IT environment is optimised and scalable in line with the needs of the group.
* Provide technical leadership on IT infrastructure, networks and applications.
* Ensure sound governance and compliance on security related topics.
* Oversee the delivery of IT projects to ensure they are on time and within budget.
* Lead innovation initiatives such as AI & machine learning.
About You
* Will hold an IT related degree, with MBA qualified applicants being held in high regard.
* Originally coming from a technical background, you have worked your way into leadership positions yet have maintained the ability to be 'hands on' as required.
* You have lead teams that have supported a user community of at least 200 seats, ideally across regions, countries or wider groups with a multinational footprint.
* You bring experience working with executive teams and liaising with senior leaders as the technology representative.
* In addition to your in-depth knowledge of technology, your real value lies in understanding how the business operates and how best to structure IT to support the business objectives.
* The successful applicant could come from a head of technology position within a similar sized business or alternatively, as a 2IC within a larger business and you're ready for your first 'head of' role.
* Interpersonally, you are an engaging and concise communicator and bring an energy and enthusiasm to get things done to your role.
