Tarkine Consulting is working with a specialist technology consulting partner supporting a large-scale insurance platform environment. We are looking for an experienced Automation Test Engineer with strong exposure to Guidewire PolicyCenter and BillingCenter, along with broader data and automation testing experience. This role sits within a support and operations environment, working across production and pre-production platforms.
What you'll be doing
* Developing and executing automated tests across insurance platform environments
* Building stable, reusable and effective automated test scripts
* Supporting automation uplift across data testing and platform testing activities
* Contributing to test plans, test strategies, execution reports, test scenarios and test cases
* Running both automated and manual test scripts where required
* Documenting test results clearly and supporting defect triage meetings
* Working with onshore and offshore delivery teams across Agile ceremonies and status updates
* Configuring and maintaining test environments
* Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve defects and improve quality outcomes
What we're looking for
* 3+ years' experience as an Automation Tester, Test Analyst or Test Engineer
* Hands‐on Guidewire experience, ideally across PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, Rating or GW Portal products
* Strong experience developing or enhancing automation frameworks
* Experience identifying suitable test cases for automation
* Strong data testing experience, ideally in a data engineering environment
* Exposure to tools and technologies such as DBT, Spark, Python, SQL, Java, Scala or Kafka
* API testing experience using Postman or similar tools
* Experience with defect management, regression testing and test reporting
* Ability to work across Agile teams and communicate clearly with delivery, testing and technical stakeholders
Useful experience
* Jenkins, GitHub or broader CI/CD exposure
* Container or cloud platform experience across AWS, Azure or GCP
* Experience testing large volumes of complex data
* Technical reconciliation, reporting or regulatory data testing experience
* Experience working in insurance, financial services or enterprise platform environments
