The Barwon Health Eating Disorder Day Program (EDDP) is a group-based treatment program for people diagnosed with an eating disorder who require more intensive therapy and support. The EDDP will offer a holistic approach with a multidisciplinary team that includes group therapy, individual support, supervised meals, and family/carer involvement. The vision of EDDP is to foster steps towards recovery through a combination of therapeutic interventions, nutritional guidance, and group support, all within a safe, compassionate setting. Through personalised treatment plans and a collaborative approach, the program aims to empower individuals to reengage meaningfully in their lives and build sustainable recovery. About The Role
The Paediatrician will provide medical lead for the Barwon Health Eating Disorder Service (EDS) new Day Program. Key components will include assessment of suitability for attendance in the program, contribute to treatment planning and goals, support to GP management of consumers, involvement in groups and multi-disciplinary care discussions, and liaison with BH EDS Paediatric team and inpatient unit as required. Key Requirements Of The Role Are
Provide medical leadership in the provision of high-quality services to consumers. Contribute to the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Program of the service. Applicants must hold FRACP (Paeds), be accredited as a supervisor by the RACP, and be registered with general or specialist medical registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
