About the Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a key role in the stripping, assessment, refurbishment, repair and assembly of OEM mining and mineral processing equipment. Working within a safety‐first environment, you will ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with FLS quality and workmanship expectations. This is a hands‐on workshop‐based role suited to someone who takes pride in delivering first‐time quality outcomes and enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive team environment.
Your Responsibilities
* Strip, assess, repair and refurbish mineral processing equipment
* Assemble and install components in accordance with approved procedures and technical drawings
* Inspect equipment and identify wear, defects or required repairs
* Complete workshop documentation, including digital and paper‐based reports
* Maintain workshop cleanliness and adhere to all safety requirements
* Participate in on‐the‐job training and continuous improvement initiatives
* Support FLSmidth's strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork
About You
* Trade qualification
* Previous workshop or mining equipment experience
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‐solving skills
* Forklift licence
* Current driver's licence
* Dogman/Rigging High Risk Work Licence (desirable)
* Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
