People Partner These are pivotal opportunities at Westpac as we move into the next important phase of our people operating model. It’s a phase focused on fundamentally changing how we partner with the business – and how the business experiences People. As a People Partner, you’ll be a trusted advisor to divisional leaders, helping shape and deliver people initiatives that bring our people strategy to life. We are seeking to fill a number of People Partner roles across focussed and dedicated portfolios with clear accountabilities. What’s the role? As a People Partner, you’ll connect business and financial priorities with practical people solutions, using data and insight to anticipate workforce risks and strengthen organisational performance. You’ll work closely with Heads of People, Senior People Partners, Centres of Expertise and shared services to deliver integrated outcomes across workforce planning, organisational design and change. What will I be accountable for? As a People Partner, you will be accountable for: Acting as a trusted partner to divisional leaders, aligning people strategies with business and financial objectives. Applying commercial and strategic insight to translate business objectives into pragmatic, risk-aware people strategies that drive performance and sustainable growth. Providing sound advice to senior leaders on people-related matters. Coaching and challenging leaders to strengthen leadership capability and accountability. Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, regulatory requirements, internal policies and governance standards. Supporting organisational design, restructuring, and change management activities, ensuring minimal risk and disruption. Using People insights to inform leader decision-making. What do I need? You enjoy working at pace, navigating ambiguity and adapting quickly as priorities shift, while partnering closely with senior leaders to deliver people strategies that enable business performance. You’re comfortable balancing competing demands, applying sound judgement and commercial insight to influence outcomes today, while anticipating what the business will need next. You’ll be an experienced People Partner, bringing: Demonstrated experience partnering at an enterprise or divisional level within a complex, regulated environment. Strong commercial acumen, connecting people initiatives to business and financial outcomes. Sound knowledge of relevant industry and regulatory requirements to support compliant decision-making. Experience in organisational design and change management, contributing to large-scale transformation programs. Ability to translate business priorities into actionable people plans and initiatives. Experience in workforce and succession planning. Proven capability in leadership coaching and capability building to strengthen performance, accountability and resilience at senior levels.
