About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator / Setter / Programmer to join a well-established stainless steel manufacturing business based in Crestmead. This is a hands-on role operating and programming a Puma 4100 CNC Mill and Puma 240M CNC Lathe, producing precision stainless steel components in a busy workshop environment. You will be responsible for running jobs independently from setup through to completion, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety at all times. The role will commence on a casual basis with a strong opportunity to transition to permanent employment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operate, set and program CNC milling and turning machines
2. CNC programming and editing using G-code
3. Full job setup from engineering drawings and specifications
4. Tool selection, offsets, fixtures and work-holding
5. First-off, in-process and final inspections
6. Use precision measuring equipment (verniers, micrometres, bore gauges, etc.)
7. Optimise cycle times and machining processes
8. Identify and troubleshoot machining or tooling issues
9. Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop
Skills & Experience
10. Proven experience as a CNC Operator / Setter / Programmer
11. Strong experience with CNC Mills and CNC Lathes
12. Ability to program, set and run jobs independently
13. Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings
14. High attention to detail and quality standards
15. Experience machining stainless steel (highly regarded)
16. Experience with live tooling and milling on lathes (advantageous)
17. Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented

18. Trade Qualification or equivalent – 1st Class Machining
19. Forklift Licence (essential)
20. Unlimited working rights in Australia
21. Driver's Licence with own Transport
