Hewitt is seeking a hands-on, practical individual to join our Northern Territory team as an Electrician/Bore Mechanic with an Electrical Licence, playing a key role in the success of our Ambalindum Aggregation. As we continue to upgrade and enhance our watering infrastructure across our properties, the addition of a Bore Mechanic with electrical qualifications has become essential to support our modern infrastructure and ongoing property improvements.
Our Ambalindum Aggregation is based just a 1 hour and 20minute drive from Alice Springs and multiple tourist destinations like Ruby Gap, Altunga-Larapinta trail and swimming holes.
This is a diverse, on-the-ground role where you'll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment related to general station electrical and solar bore infrastructure. You will play a key part in keeping things running smoothly across our Ambalindum Aggregation.
What You'll Be Doing:
· Inspect, install, service and maintain and repair electrical components for solar bore pumps.
· Covering large distances across the property to inspect and repair bores. Including responding to pump breakdowns or emergencies affecting station electrical infrastructure and water supply.
· Monitor electrical safety and compliance with applicable regulations.
· Maintain accurate records of work carried out, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
· Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
· Work with and coordinate tasks with current suppliers.
· Reporting to Station Management on water infrastructure needs.
· Working in remote conditions, often independently.
· Support daily station tasks when necessary.
What You'll Bring:
· Sound understanding of electrical safety and Australian Standards.
· Must hold and be able to maintain an Australian "A" Grade Electrical License.
· Experience working with bore pumps (e.g. Grundfos, Lorentz, waterboy etc) (advantageous).
· Knowledge of solar PV and off-grid electrical systems (advantageous).
· Familiarity with diesel and petrol-powered generators(advantageous).
· Previous experience working on cattle stations, farms, or remote areas (advantageous).
