About the Role
Manager, Scholarships to lead the central Student Services function responsible for the administration and disbursement of all undergraduate and postgraduate coursework scholarships. Provide strategic and operational leadership for policies, systems, and processes to ensure efficient, compliant, and student-focused outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the operations of the Scholarships Unit, providing strategic direction for administrative processes.
* Oversee day-to-day operations and collaboration with University service groups.
* Monitor and improve policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with University standards.
* Develop plans for risk management and enhance student administration processes while delivering quality customer service.
* Provide guidance and management for staff, including recruitment, induction, and performance evaluation, and maintain effective communication within the unit.
* Build strategic relationships with stakeholders and represent the Director in committees and working parties.
* Analyse data for reporting, manage budgets, and oversee scholarship programs aligned with the University's strategic goals.
Selection Criteria (Qualifications)
* Completion of a relevant tertiary qualification and/or extensive leadership experience with proven management expertise in complex environments.
* Experience managing teams, setting strategic direction, change management, and delivering outcomes through planning and resource management.
* Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate processes and drive continuous improvement within evolving frameworks.
* Strong leadership, with the ability to build and sustain high-performing, customer-focused teams.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with ability to influence, negotiate, and build productive relationships.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and database applications, including experience with electronic student data management systems.
Desirable
* Knowledge of undergraduate and postgraduate coursework scholarships.
* Knowledge of the tertiary education sector.
Role Requirements
* Fixed-term contract requires current work rights in Australia matching the tenure.
