This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, 2025.

Leonora District High School (DHS) invites applications for a dedicated English - Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) Teacher to join our team, teaching both primary and high school students. Located in the Goldfields-Esperance region, north of Kalgoorlie, Leonora DHS caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The school has a long history of supporting the local community and embracing its cultural diversity, with 112 students, 79% of whom are of Aboriginal heritage. The curriculum incorporates the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework.

The Role

The successful applicant should possess the professional knowledge, practices, and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant English and HASS curriculum. You will promote student engagement and achievement through building productive relationships with students.

We seek a creative, hands-on teacher who works well in a collaborative environment, values strong relationships with students, parents, and the community, and can work in multi-age classes requiring differentiation. Experience in embedding the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework into daily practice is desirable.

You will engage in professional learning, work professionally with colleagues, and possess good communication and interpersonal skills. Providing a safe and supportive learning environment and enabling students to reach their potential are key responsibilities.

Eligibility
