Join our Perioperative Services team to assist in patient care, theatre setup, and maintaining high standards of safety and service.
Permanent Part-time position - 64 hours per fortnight

Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.
CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.
CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.
About Department
The Perioperative Unit is located at the Sale Campus and comprises 3 Operating Rooms, 1 Endoscopy room, a Day Procedure Unit and Central Sterilising Supply Department. General Surgery plus specialties such as Orthopaedics, Urology, Eye, Ear, Gynaecology and Obstetrics are conducted at CGHS.
About the Role
As a member of the Perioperative Services Team, the Operating Theatre Technician works cooperatively within the team to assist in the care, preparation and transportation of the surgical patient according to standards and policies of the department. The role also includes assisting staff in achieving and maintaining high standards of quality care and service, reliability and safety through the setting up of operating theatres, cleaning and maintaining operating theatres and equipment and assisting with the positioning and transport of patients. There is also an expectation to contribute to the on call roster over the weekends which is one weekend per month.
Duties
* Transportation services for patients and clinical supplies
* Ensuring any urgent specimens are correctly handled correctly recorded and delivered to pathology in a timely manner
* Transporting patients as required with dignity and respect in a professional manner
* Attending to other requests as required by staff
About You
* Qualified Theatre Technician Grade 4 or working towards relevant qualification with at least 6 months experience and willingness to work in beautiful Gippsland
* Energetic and a great communicator
* Able to maintain privacy and dignity for patients and staff
