KU Children’s Services (KU) is proudly a not-for-profit and for-purpose organisation with over 130 years of experience delivering high-quality early childhood education and early childhood intervention programs.

The Role
This exciting new role, based in Armstrong Creek, will lead the activation and ongoing development of the Biyala Community Hub as a vibrant, welcoming and sustainable community space that delivers programs to support children and families.
The successful applicant will be responsible for identifying community needs, building strong professional relationships with council and local organisations, and fostering a sense of belonging through supporting the delivery of programs and partnerships that enhance the wellbeing of children and families in the local community.
We are looking for someone with strong community insight to work on a permanent, part time basis, 8 hours per day, 3 days a week. The working days can be negotiated between Monday-Friday.
Key responsibilities include:
* Activating the hub through inclusive programs, partnerships and funded initiatives
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with council, community organisations, service providers and local businesses
* Leading consultation and evaluation processes to ensure programs meet identified community needs
* Managing day-to-day hub operations including bookings, facilities and resources
* Contributing to financial sustainability through budget management, grant writing and revenue generation
* Providing accurate reporting on engagement, outcomes and partnerships
* Contributing to the development and implementation of the Hub’s strategic plan
About you
Candidates require:
* A relevant tertiary qualification (Community Development, Social Work or related field)
* Current Victorian Working with Children Check
* Current driver’s licence and access to an insured vehicle
Skills & Experience required:
* Experience in community engagement and program development
* Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
* Experience designing and evaluating community programs
* Financial capability, including grant writing and budget management
* Excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills
* Knowledge of local government and child protection frameworks
* Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
