The Sporting Globe is Australia’s most loved sports bar and grill serving over two million customers annually. It is the ultimate place to eat, drink, and watch sport with our offering of quality casual dining, big atmosphere entertainment, customer-first service, and a world-class fit-out.
We are looking for Head Chefs, Sous Chefs and Chef de Parties to join our kitchen teams at our Queensland restaurant. We are seeking individuals who have a passion for producing outstanding quality food and who will be able to provide exceptional guest experiences by ensuring solid kitchen operations. You will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of our amazing food within a high-volume restaurant and pub environment. We are searching for a team player who has thorough cleanliness and kitchen hygiene. You will deliver food and service to The Sporting Globe standards, adhere to Australian legal requirements, and make a valued contribution to overall business performance.
Pay: $70,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
Responsibilities
- Demonstrated experience as a Sous Chef in a hotel, restaurant, or pub environment.
- Lead, train and develop a team; allocate sections and secondary duties; manage general kitchen operations with the head chef.
- Ensure all meals are cooked to the venue's recipe and plating guides, served on time, and of the highest possible quality.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen that adheres to food preparation and cleanliness guidelines; ensure staff follow kitchen cleaning systems.
- Participate in preparation, cooking, and presentation of all menu items across all kitchen stations (prep, fry, grill, line, salad, dessert).
Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years of demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Energetic attitude, team player, and strong work ethic.
- Experience and understanding of financial controls in a hospitality business.
- Ability to lead, train and develop a team; excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide kitchen staff.
- Knowledge of food cost control, inventory management, and kitchen operations.
- Commitment to brand standards, OH&S; and food hygiene procedures.
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery is desired but not essential; eligibility to work in Australia; flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
