A well-established mechanical contractor with a strong track record in mission-critical environments is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of large-scale HVAC packages for hyperscale data centre projects across Melbourne.
The Opportunity
You'll play a key commercial role from tender through to project completion, ensuring mechanical works are costed accurately, delivered within budget, and backed by clear, data-driven reporting. These projects move quickly, carry significant technical complexity, and require someone who can maintain commercial control without slowing the pace.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and manage BOQs, cost plans, valuations, and variation submissions
* Provide commercial oversight for mechanical services throughout the full project lifecycle
* Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to maintain financial accuracy
* Conduct risk analysis, forecasting, and progress reporting
* Support tender submissions with detailed cost breakdowns and analysis
What You Bring
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within mechanical, HVAC, or building services – Ideally Datacentres
* Strong understanding of high-value packages and complex technical scopes
* Excellent analytical and commercial skills
* Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders - verbally and in writing
* Detail-driven, organised, and comfortable in fast-paced project environments
* You must have worked in either Australia or the UK for 3 years in the construction space as a QS
