The Role
This is a hands‐on finance leadership role responsible for the end‐to‐end financial management of vineyard operations, winery production, bottling, inventory and sales channels. The Finance Manager will play a critical role in improving management costing, perpetual inventory control, pricing discipline and financial decision‐making, while ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls across the business. This role requires strong systems capability in Excel and an Integrated ERP system (SAP preferable) and experience in wine, manufacturing or inventory‐control environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead end‐to‐end financial management of the business, including monthly management reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), trial balance integrity and month‐end close (Day 5 target)
* Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision‐making, working closely with department managers and supporting statutory compliance and year‐end processes
* Oversee working capital management, including accounts receivable and payable, debtor collections, creditor management and weekly cash flow forecasting
* Manage and optimise inventory and costing across bulk wine, dry goods and finished goods, including vintage cost tracking, margin analysis and stock revaluation
* Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes, including 3‐way financial models, scenario analysis and capex planning
* Partner with Sales and Marketing to drive pricing strategy, margin optimisation and overall business profitability
* Own and manage ERP systems (SAP B1 or equivalent), ensuring alignment with production systems (e.g. Vintrace) and integrity of financial data
* Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting and internal controls across the business
