Your Opportunity

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? As a Youth and Family Worker, you'll be at the heart of the Assisting Students and Parents (ASAP) program — a dynamic initiative helping young people stay connected to education, family, and community.

No two days are the same You'll provide flexible, tailored support in schools, homes, and community settings, working one-on-one with young people and their families to build brighter, more resilient futures. Whether it's linking them with housing, counselling, mediation, or other vital services, you'll be their go-to support, cheering them on every step of the way.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred case management using SMART goal planning and regular reviews
- Collaborate with schools to support referred students and boost engagement in education or training
- Manage client referrals, conduct assessments, and complete intake and consent processes
- Build strong relationships with schools, services, and agencies for seamless client support
- Advocate for clients and support access to services, including transport and appointment attendance
- Foster culturally safe practices, especially with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Maintain accurate case records and contribute to reporting, impact measurement, and quality assurance

Requirements for Success
- Solid background in Community Services and/or Mental Health with a values-based, client-focused approach
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Community Services, Behavioural Sciences, or similar, plus 2-3 years' experience
- Skilled in supporting young people with complex needs and engaging families in therapeutic interventions
- Strong abilities in crisis response, case management, referrals, and advocacy
- Knowledge of Child Protection legislation and child safety frameworks
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to handle caseloads and program duties
- Strong written and verbal communication, including case notes and stakeholder presentations
- Proven ability to build trust and maintain relationships with clients, teams, and external partners
- Resilient, self-aware, and professional with healthy boundaries and team contribution
- Must hold an unrestricted, current driver licence

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
