About the role
The
Team Leader Infrastructure Strategy & Liveability
plays a leadership role in addressing the Corporation's strategic challenges, leveraging opportunity and managing risk. The Infrastructure Strategy & Liveability team leads strategies and plans across the business across a range of topics such as urban water security, environment, land use, climate change, circular economy, integrated water management (IWM) and strategic partnerships to ensure the organisation's strategic objectives are being met.
This role is a
full-time, limited tenure opportunity,

The focus of this limited tenure position is:
* Team Leadership:
Lead and support a high-performing team to develop and deliver selected strategies and projects, including Integrated Water Management projects and initiatives, Land Use Strategy, and grant opportunities. Influence an inclusive and equitable working environment where our people can perform at their best.
* Project Management & Planning:
Lead the coordination and development of the Urban Water Strategy, due for delivery in 2027. The Urban Water Strategy is a key planning tool in delivering safe and sustainable water and wastewater services for our cities and towns now and into the future. The strategy is developed in consultation with our stakeholders and community. It aims to support resilient and liveable communities while balancing social, environmental and economic costs and benefits across the water cycle.
* Stakeholder and community engagement:
Lead the engagement of multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely input to the Urban Water Strategy and other strategies, project and grants. Plan and deliver multiple stages of community engagement for the Urban Water Strategy, with the support of the Communications and Engagement team.
* Strategic Planning:
Ensure strategies and projects align with and appropriately deliver on the broader industry strategic drivers and policies, such as
Water for Victoria
and
Water is Life
.
* Technical Support:
Provide technical expertise and advice on strategic planning and water security matters to support the delivery of other business activities, such as short- and long-term infrastructure planning and the annual capital program.

Key Selection Criteria
1. Demonstrated leadership experience, including in the management and development of a high-performing team to create a positive culture and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality work.
2. Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, strategic analysis and / or policy development.
3. Demonstrated experience in program management and project management.
4. Advanced communication skills with the ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships and to influence and motivate stakeholders.
5. Experience in the water industry or working on any of the following topics is highly desirable: water security, water resources, infrastructure planning, integrated water management and/or strategic partnerships.
6. Tertiary or postgraduate qualification(s) in Engineering, Science, Geography, Public Policy, Social Sciences or similar.
