With the aim of enhancing the customer experience in an upbeat and engaging way, whether it is globally inspired menus, specially selected craft beer or the opportunity to socialise and have a bit of fun, there is sure to be something that excites our awesome customers when they visit one of our new concepts.What does a Sous Chef do at Roc’s Social?The Sous Chef assists the general Manager in providing our guests with best-in-class, off-the-chart, meals by leading the Kitchen Team and supervising all venue culinary activities. It requires two important skill sets - culinary management and great leadership.The Sous Chef, under the direction of the Executive Chef, supervises, trains, coaches, and drives engagement with their team to ensure the highest-quality culinary experience for our guests. They also manage the culinary operations - scheduling labour, managing inventory, ordering product, ensuring safety and sanitation, maintaining kitchen areas and maintaining vendor relationships.The Sous Chef may be responsible for either day-to-day operations on the line or events execution.Key Accountabilities of the Position include, but are not limited to:Ensure the consistent, high quality preparation & execution of all menu items in Roc’s BarAssist in maintain the highest level of food safety standards and kitchen best practices in Roc’s BarAssist in the development, presentation & succession planning of Kitchen team membersAssist the Executive Chef in ongoing menu development & performance improvement.Maintain highest standard of kitchen presentation and equipment cleanlinessAssist in Food Production for the greater VCA businessWhat are we looking for?This role is perfect for someone who has experience leading as a Chef and who has the below qualities:Hands on approach and lead by exampleStrong knowledge of current cooking trends and techniquesAble to follow direction and execute with precision as directed by the Chef de CuisineWork well under pressureAble to work weekends and nightsStrong organizational skillsGreat communication & leadership skillsIf this sounds like you, then we’d love to hear from you!What We OfferWe are a fun, energetic, collaborative and supportive bunch who thrive on being a social and hardworking team.
