The Opportunity
As a Senior Process Engineer, you'll have a key role to play as custodian and subject matter expert of Fibre Cement manufacturing processes involving different areas of the operations.
With your knowledge of first principles engineering, you'll lead complex process improvement initiatives across multiple manufacturing lines to deliver measurable gains in efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
This role will work closely with a team of other process engineers and key stakeholders throughout the business such as production and maintenance management and PCI engineers.
You will start work early by 7:00 AM and finish at 3:00 PM.
What You'll Do
Provide advanced technical expertise in chemical and process engineering, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and driving innovation in manufacturing processes.
Manage and execute process audits and improvement projects, developing action plans and ensuring timely implementation to strengthen operational reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Maintenance, Projects) to influence process design and capital investment decisions that support long-term business objectives.
Mentor and develop engineering talent, providing guidance and training to build technical capability and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Champion best-practice sharing and standardization across all sites, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry benchmarks.
Utilize data-driven analysis and Lean methodologies to identify root causes, optimise processes, and deliver sustainable performance improvements.
What you'll bring
Bachelor's Degree in Science or Chemical Engineering
15 years' experience working in a process engineering field within a complex manufacturing operation or similar industry
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience in finding the root cause of complex problems in a manufacturing environment that are the cause of loss of efficiency in any form (speed, yield, quality, rate)
Able to manage internal process audit programs, focused on auditing to set standards, and to transfer audit findings into prioritised improvement actions
Knowledge of material testing and Quality Assurance Processes
Experience with wet processes, including slurry handling in industrial environments
Experience with process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS
