About the Role
Savannah Way Motel in Borroloola, NT seeks an experienced Hotel Manager to oversee all aspects of motel operations in this remote Northern Territory location. This is a hands-on management role responsible for coordinating accommodation services, guest services, food and beverage operations, maintenance, and staff management.
Key Responsibilities
● Direct and oversee all motel operations including reservations, reception, housekeeping, and room service
● Manage and supervise food and beverage services including restaurant and bar operations
● Coordinate property maintenance, security arrangements, and garden upkeep
● Oversee financial operations including budgeting, purchasing, and accounting activities
● Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise staff across all departments
● Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, food safety, workplace health and safety, and gaming regulations
● Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to maintain service standards
● Monitor guest satisfaction and handle customer complaints and feedback
● Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts
● Prepare operational reports and maintain accurate business records
Essential Requirements
● Minimum AQF Diploma or higher qualification in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Management, or related field
● At least 2 years' recent experience in hotel or motel operations at an appropriate skill level
● Experience working across multiple operational areas including accommodation services, food & beverage, guest services, and general operations
● Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and coordinate operational activities
● Strong leadership and team management skills with ability to supervise, train, and motivate staff
● Financial management skills including budgeting, cost control, and purchasing
● Knowledge of hotel/motel operations, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
● Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
● Ability to work autonomously in a remote location
● Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Desirable Skills
● Current driver's license
● Experience in remote or regional hospitality operations
● Knowledge of point-of-sale and property management systems
● Understanding of NT liquor licensing and gaming regulations
● Experience with supplier management and contract negotiation
