Your next opportunity: We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Management Accountant to join our dynamic team. The Management Accountant is responsible for providing accurate financial insights, analysis, and reporting to support strategic decision-making within the organization.
This role, reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, is accountable for the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, month end processes and analysing variances through to offering recommendations to improve financial performance. The Management Accountant will collaborate closely with the Regional Concrete & Quarries business and work across other business segments and functions as part of the Boral Operating Model.
Your day will involve:
* Business Partnering
o Stakeholder Management across the Regional Concrete & Quarries team and business partnering with sales, logistics and site operations facilitating continuous improvement in the understanding and communication of results.
* Cost Accounting and Inventory Reporting
o Monitor and manage cost drivers through strong P&L management.
o Inventory management and processes to ensure control of inventory and stock holdings.
* Month end and associated reconciliation processes
o Month end journals to support the month end close process working with site leads.
o Variance analysis to support the Monthly Business Review process and effective cost management.
o Balance sheet reconciliations with a view of improving working capital through debtors management, creditor initiatives and inventory management.
* Financial reporting and Analysis
o Dashboards and reporting insights and performance improvement.
o Budgeting and forecasting.
o Capital management and associated reporting.
* Risk Management and Compliance
o Year-end reporting.
o Addressing audit queries from internal and external audit teams.
What are we looking for?
* Commercially focused and experienced finance professional, ideally with prior exposure to partnering with operational stakeholders.
* Bachelor degree (or higher) in Commerce, Business, Finance or Economics, with CA/CPA qualifications or working towards preferred.
* Demonstrated experience in a management accounting role, ideally in construction industry.
* Advanced MS Excel and exposure to major ERP systems.
* Experience working towards tight deadlines and handling competing priorities.
* Good attention to detail required to communicate monthly reporting, journals & budgets.
* A can-do attitude with a willingness and ability to work in a demanding, constantly changing environment.
* Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs.
