OverviewThe primary responsibility of the Model Barback is to act as the critical support system for our Model Bartenders.
In order for our bars to function properly, we require our Model Barback to work incredibly hard and be in constant communication with the Model Bartenders (as well as the rest of the Service Team).
Model Barbacks are an integral part of the Bar Service Team.
It is their responsibility to ensure that the bar is always stocked with necessary items for proper service and to expedite guests' drink orders by providing quick and efficient support to the Model Bartenders.ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Cleans bar area, including bar tops, sinks, glasses, refrigerators, coolers and other bar appliances in accordance with Hard Rock policies as well as the New Jersey Health Standards.Maintains floors and keeps them free of garbage or debris.Ensures back bar is set properly with all product labels facing and pour spouts facing to the left.Ensures all soda gun products, fruit garnishes, and mixes meet service standards.Stocks assigned bar with product and supplies for the evening and keeps the assigned bar stocked with product and supplies throughout each scheduled shift.Ensures liquor room, walk-in coolers, and store rooms are organized and clean at all times.Prepares all mixes and garnishes.Acknowledges, greets and converses with customers who approach the bar.Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Model Bartenders and Management.Actively markets the venue through available social media outlets, as per the Company's Marketing Requirement Plan.Collects customer information for the venue database while constantly striving to increase the size of your personal clientele.Constantly provides customers with accurate information about the venue and property as well as entertainment offered in each.Works to anticipate the needs of bartenders and server assistants at all times, assisting them however necessary.Works with a sense of urgency to anticipate customer needs and assist other team members when the opportunity arises.Communicates with management, hosts and service staff immediately to rectify any and all customer needs and requests.Communicates with management any complaints, comments or incidents.Removes all trash from bar, following venue protocol for storage, handling and transportation of waste materials.Adheres to all established policies, procedures and guidelines.Creates and maintains a sense of urgency.QualificationsA minimum of one (1) year of experience as a bar porter and/or bar back, preferably in a high-volume nightclub or high-volume restaurant.Current and/or previous modeling experience preferred but not required.Must have knowledge of beverages, glassware, and garnishes.Must possess a valid New Jersey alcohol awareness card and a health department card.Must be able to operate: cash register, two and six wheel carts, juice, soda and liquor guns, cutting boards, coffee and frozen drink machines, ice machines, shot glasses, mixers, pourers, blenders, beer keg/soda/wine/juice hook-ups and knives.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.Must be neat and clean in appearance and physically fit to perform the duties required.Must be able to stand or walk a minimum of eight-hour shift & work inside assigned bar areas in the venue.Must be observant and quick to respond to various situations while also multitasking and handling stressful situations.
