Position We’re looking for a National Maintenance & Engineering Manager to define, build and continuously refine our M&E strategy across Australia. This is a hands‑on, sleeves‑rolled‑up leadership role that blends technical expertise, commercial acumen and people development - all wrapped in Virgin personality.
Reporting Lines Reporting to the Head of Facilities:
Responsibilities
Define and implement a national M&E strategy aligned to global standards and local legislation.
Assist in CAPEX projects where required and contribute to contractor management systems.
Establish clear, best practice maintenance policies and procedures, delivering a robust preventative and reactive maintenance management system.
Ensure all safety and legislative processes are adhered to, identifying opportunities for improvement along the way.
Conduct Building Services audits with the on‑site club operations team.
Support people‑related processes – from recruitment, training, capability uplift, onboarding and coaching.
Define and execute a 3‑year energy and water reduction strategy.
Conduct annual energy and water audits.
Embed sustainable practices that reduce cost and environmental impact.
All about you Qualifications & Experience
3+ years M&E experience in multi‑site environments, hands‑on experience with HVAC and pool plant operations, or a trade qualification.
Established maintenance systems, managed national contracts, overseen refurbishments and supported new‑site handovers – ensuring compliance, quality and efficiency every step of the way.
Comfortable working non‑traditional hours when required to get the job done.
