About the role
Bunge isseeking a proactive and detail‐oriented Cotton Operations Officer to support the execution of cotton shipments in line with contractural, operational, and cost requirements.
In this permanent full‐time role, you will work closely with the Cotton Origination Coordinator, Cotton Operations Planner, Container Marketing Merchant, packing and storage providers, logistics partners, and the documentation team. You will play a critical role in ensuring all cotton shipments are executed efficiently, safely, and within contract terms, while supporting the most cost‐effective supply chain outcomes for the business.
This role suits someone with hands‐on experience in container shipping, packing, and export operations, who enjoys working in a fast‐paced, operational environment and collaborating across multiple stakeholders.
Duties include:
* Work with the Cotton Origination Coordinator and Container Marketing Merchant to understand freight capacity requirements
* Book shipping space to meet export contract obligations
* Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines to ensure container releases align with rail and packing schedules
* Liaise daily with packing sites and domestic logistics providers to resolve operational issues
* Ensure all accruals and invoice queries are managed accurately
* Coordinate and resolve ad hoc container‐related operational issues, including damages
* Communicate with cotton packers and warehouses to ensure forward container programs meet trading requirements
* Oversee contract entry into Impex and GTI systems
* Manage scheduled reporting to offshore offices
* Provide operational information and support to Trade, Logistics, and Management teams as required
* Provide operational support to the Container Operations Officer during the cotton off‐season
About you
* Experience in container packing, transport, and export operations
* Knowledge of container shipping, ideally across both import and export environments
* Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain operations
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
* Strong analytical, problem‐solving, and organisational skills
* Ability to communicate operational issues clearly and in a timely manner
* Willingness to take instruction, training, and work collaboratively within a small team
